Since the beginning of this year, our Corporate Presenters Joe Pruden and Erin Adams have spanned the country giving 38 presentations at 24 schools. From California to Maine, they have provided borrower education on such topics as the Roadmap to Repayment, Gauge Your Debt, Credit, Student Loan Industry Updates and others.
With the changes in the industry regulations on Exit requirements, many schools offered our Roadmap to Repayment presentation as a supplement. This presentation gives students profession-specific insight into what they can expect before entering repayment and options to establish a cost-effective repayment strategy.
The presentation was well-received by students and schools alike. “Very good talk on a very difficult topic,” one medical student said. Another said, “I was so nervous before, but now I feel better.”
As the need for financial literacy grows, we’ve expanded our debt management presentations as stand-alone pieces on Credit, Budget, Gauge Your Debt, and Identity Theft. This allows students to delve deeper when examining their unique financial situation.
Most will agree that this has been a crazy year for financial aid. One of the new presentations we developed helps students deal with precisely that — the Student Loan Update presentation is a lender-neutral piece that outlines how students may be affected by the recent industry changes. And student feedback has been very positive. One student said, “I really appreciated that although [Erin] was from T.H.E., she presented the material in a way that was in my best interest – she didn’t advertise or promote one lender over another.”
Like many students, Joe and Erin are excited for a short reprieve from business travel, taking a break to enjoy the Minnesota summer instead of dealing with flight delays and hotel food. But they are both looking forward to the upcoming school year, and are already scheduling presentations for orientations, entrance supplements, and other borrower education topics.
